Work: Datsun Nissan 280zx 2+2

I love parking next to other Z cars where ever we go. The older the wider the smile.

Pounced into the parking lot at work this morning and briefly parked next to a great late 70’s (?) Nissan / Datsun 280zx… 2+2!
A quick peek in the back showed two bent 2″+ pipes… possible future exhaust?!

Work’s parking lot certainly has it’s newer 350Z and 370z cars, but it’s the first time i’ve seen this guy around. 2+2’s are growning on me.

Though late 70’s Z cars went to more angular design, they still kept the flavor of the original design. I’m really digging the louvers.. probably keeps the back cooler in the summer.

Hood match up – both rocking black vents.

And got the same wheels! Iron Cross!

A little extra in the back for the 2+2.

Looks like a very well cared for example of a Datsun Nissan 280zx 2+2.

hey Justin, thanks for the note and the kind words! First time that’s happened with this car. I’ve had this car for four years now, given to me by the original owner, who also gave me about three inches in service records – it’s been WELL taken care of!

I repainted the louvers a few years ago along with the wipers….helps dress it up a little.

Done clutch master and slave, tune up, prothane bushings all around, new shifter bushing, and new pads and rotors all around. I got new tires this summer and tackled refinishing the dash this December….unfortunately that lasted 2 weeks, and it started cracking in the same spots again…I give up on that!

No exhaust plans….all stock, Maybe just backed into a high curb years ago.

Love the L28E in this thing.

Another guy at work has a 76 280Z he inherited from his dad (original owner) and is selling…..I wish I had the room and permission 🙂

This was my Dad’s car. I drove it to prom. He loved and babied that car and for good reason–it was a great machine. A lot of accessible power, reliable, and a blast to drive. Bought in 1981 about three months before my younger brother was born. Given away-gasp!-to family friend in 2008(?) after years of faithful service.
Good to see she’s doing well!
